Chicago deserves leadership that is compassionate enough to care, competent enough to deliver, and independent enough to stand up to City Hall when our neighborhoods are getting a bad deal.
I love Chicago. That’s exactly why I’m running to change it.
Families are paying more and getting less.
Housing is harder to afford. Taxes and fees keep rising. Small businesses are buried in bureaucracy. City services are stretched thin. And too often, City Hall lurches from one avoidable crisis to another.
I believe in progressive government because I know what it can make possible. Public schools gave me opportunity. The GI Bill helped me build a future. This country welcomed my family when we came here as immigrants.
But compassion without competence does not help working families.
When government cannot manage the basics, it loses trust and undermines the very progressive goals it claims to support.
The 35th Ward deserves an alderperson who puts our neighborhoods ahead of political machines. Someone willing to work with the Mayor when it helps our community and willing to stand up to him when it doesn’t.
I’m running to make Chicago more affordable, support local businesses, strengthen our neighborhoods, protect immigrant families, improve city services, and make government worthy of the people it serves.
Progressive. Practical. Independent.
Meet Daniel
Daniel Tobón is an immigrant, Army veteran, attorney, entrepreneur, husband, father of three, and a former Local School Council member at Kelvyn Park High School.
He is running to bring practical, progressive, independent leadership to the 35th Ward.
